I ordered the “Tauler Jack” kit from Brennan’s Garage. It’s a kit that converts a 8000lb trailer jack to work like a hilift, but better. But if welding, and it’s ready to rock. Worth looking into…

That looks handy!

A long time ago I built a contraption from two pairs of 20K lb semi trailer landing gear jacks to lift and load some really heavy machinery where I couldn't get a big forklift. It worked great, but killed my arms cranking it all day. I used it again because I had it, but I remembered how bad it sucked to crank the handles so I went to harbor freight and bought a pair of powered pipe threaders. I made some mounts and adapters and I was in business. My arms no longer looked like Popeye's when I was done.

I bet you could use a cordless drill to run that jack. If you keep the crank atleast switch arms often so you don't end up lopsided.
