Once the car arrived at Slee Offroad, the important stuff first!


We also put some of these on, 17" x 8.5 to aid the driving/handling with 35's by slightly reducing the sidewall height, and prevent rubbing, with the right offset. This rim has a thicker inside bead, strong centre design, and will fit over aftermarket calipers with bigger rotors.

We went with this tyre, as it is an intermediate type tread, with good feel, and aggressive enough for the work this truck will do, when needed, square shoulder, for gravel handling, and turn in as well.

And I think the matt black finish suits the white 80, with liner.

Snowy should have some serviced items, a new screen and a working air con for this years Cruise Moab hopefully, if Slee Offroad can sort that for me, while we look at the loop around to complete the trip again.

How did SNOWY do in Moab this year?
I've heard some great things about the Slinky/Icon Suspension.

Thought I had, then realised it was LCOOL I did, and not here.
Did a road trip to Moab this year, hire car to get SNOWY from Slee Offroad, we had to slow down at times, due to - temps and ice warnings.

Headed south to Monitou ruins, Pikes Peak, Gunnerson for an overnight stop.

Called into a little bar here, where the theme seemed to be "we"ll.... slap my neck, and call it reeeeed"

over the pass, and had coffee in Ouray, and lunch in Telluride, parked by another 8o on the way to Moab.

Managed to fit out afew trucks with suspension while in the USA this year, and go do a nice shoot with afew other 80s while there too for 2016.

Cuaght up with Carl from JTs and his 200 while at Milts, neat looking 200, black with white, and secret winch mount.

Normal Sunset Grille dinner so everyone could stare at their phones.

Justin from Redline Land Cruisers now has stage 4 cdc icon suspension in his 80 chassised 40 alloy bodied truck on 37s.

Since we fitted the Lexus LX 450 engine, the USA 80 mph speed limits have seen us get 18-20 lt per 100km on 35s with 4.88 diffs and auto in the USA, and with Slee Offroad looking after the truck for me, has been trouble free apart from the abuse induced front housing oil leak 8)

Winching duties in Hells Gate for an 80 with a tyre off the bead.

Word of advice, dont try and finish the 5 lb burrito.

Best shakes and chili fries in town.

And dont overdose on double makers Marks at the Old Miners in Gunnerson, then try and do the washing at the motel afterward, when the dryers and washers are front loaders, soap in a dryer with clothes you think your washing doesnt work well LOL.

After heading through Colo Springs again for our home bound trip,

we crashed at Albuquerque N.M for the night, for a different route.

Next day we hit Gallup for morning coffee, and had lunch standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona.

Dinner on old route 66 at Bagdad Cafe in California before hitting Hampton Inn San Bernadino for the night. A good 860 mile road trip for the day with lots of stops.

And we gave them an aussie flag to go on the roof.

Had to get the No 11's at the Route 66 sign while in the area too !

Slow update, but for this years #swadventure18 we fitted SNOWY out with a PRINSU rack and tepui Roof top tent. [yes its the orange one]
and made the front of our trip shirt logos for this year.

And a "firewood dispenser" on the spare wheel !
