wow!!!

Bump ;P

Is this the correct fuel cap for the LV? If so, I know where there are more and I can then cross it off the list. I had always thought it was some kind of rubber stopper.

Let me know ASAP so I have a chance of getting it!

I can also get extras if necessary!

That is the correct cap for '64-'65. In 1966 trough '67 the LV uses a rubber stopper. '66 and '67 also have a locking fuel door.

Is there any need for these? Is anyone willing to swap one of these for the correct one for the '67? Is there a picture of the '67 cap/plug anywhere?

Are you kidding me. In 67 they actually used a stopper/plug to seal the gas tank. No way? Why would they use a metal cap pre 67 and then go to a rubber stopper? I am almost positive the cap that was on mine, 1966, looks like the one in your picture. I have seen these for sale on the net and I think Mark's Off Road had some. I am not sure, but I may have bought one and stashed it, can't remember.

at least i was smart enough to sit around a lot!

my 67 had the rubber stopper. iirc, i still have one floating around in the parts stash somewhere............and NO, you can't have it! :flipoff2:

Any updates on the progress?
Gene,
Hope life is treating you well either way.

Got it Mike, thanks so much. They turned out great.

Well I spent about 3 hours sanding and wire wheels around the inside of the door jambs today. It's the first I've worked on the LV since December of last year. Right now I'm working on finishing the inside from the back doors forward. After that it's chop up the back of both LV bodies and start welding braces and body parts. I'm hoping to have the front section of the interior painted in a couple weeks. Here are some pics of what I'm up against in the rear section.

Good to see you back at it Gene.I was missing the progress reports.

Looks like there is plenty there to keep you busy for a while.

looks like you have your work cut out for you. pun fully intended! ;p

good to hear from you gene. i know the rig will be sweet when it gets done. does'nt matter if it happens this year or next or the year after that. it'll get done eventually. deadlines suck so i've resolved not to set any when it comes to my personal projects. i'm gonna work on them when i feel like it so the work is enjoyable and rewarding, not a chore.

then again, the 45 run is just a few short months away..... :steer:
