I'm super appreciative with all the compliments. Never once did I expect this build to turn out as nice as it has...my OCD anal retentive particularness won out over rational logic!

My suspicion is confirmed. Checked the tcase oil and its low again. Second time within just the 150 kms I have so far...also a decent amount of fluid in the IPOR skid plate. So...trans and tcase will get pulled for inspection...which requires pulling the trans cover which requires pulling the seats, center console, amp, and maybe even the heater :bang:.

Just another confirmation of the quote in @GLTHFJ60 sig...these are the only two parts of the rig I did not tear down and redo myself (not to say I wouldn't have the same issue).
 
Doh. That stinks but will be right in short order after some late nights i imagine. Plus now you get to retourqe half your hardware :grinpimp:

I'd consider putting the equalizer hose kit on there for the time being and enjoy it, unless it actually turns out the front seal is leaking (which sounds like is not).

I'm assuming this would work the same with the sm465 as it would with a H42/41? If that's the case then, I will definitely take this route.

Hmm, I didn't think that through. The concept would be the same, but you'd have to fab a hose with the right fitting for the 465 fill threads, or find a weird adapter.

Looking now at pics of where the fill hole is on the sm465...same drivers side as the H42, it should work the same (hypothetically). Since the fluid transfer is gravity based, it should be fairly simple to conjure up something that would work. I think I still have some extra clear hose from when I did the same on Casey's old 40.

Thanks for the idea...I had vaguely considered it but irrationally discarded it! I can now rebuild my spare sm465 at my leisure.

@S4Cruiser don't sweat it. You built an entire truck from the ground up, a very nice truck at that, there will be glitches. This is exactly why I try to put at least a few hundred miles on a truck before I deliver it to my customer. You built what a great many wish they are capable of building. Chase those glitches with a big smile on your face :)

It appears that I do not have an oil transfer issue b/w the trans a tcase. Checked the oil level in the trans and its just below the fill hole. Guess my issue is just a leaky sm465 which I can fix eventually by swapping in a rebuilt one sometime over the summer.

For s***s and giggles I drained the oil from the tcase and it appears to be the appropriate amount. Is the amount of metal on the magnet drain plug seem fine for the first change after rebuild and new Orion gears?

Moved to new / potentially permanent location. This is ~1.5" farther back and is ~65* angle (shackle and spring).

What's the consensus? Leave here or move in ~.5" (which would be ~1" farther back from original)?
