Ok, ok. Looking forward to part two. Been peeking at the picks on Canguru Racing. Congrats on your finish at Baja!
Thanks!

Was unaware of the OME Lower Rear Shock stone guards - nice touch.

Kurt - are you staying with the front diff as is per your build plan, or down the road going to add a front locker?
I could have used those a few years ago. We were driving the Pony Express route to Wendover and I threw a huge rock from the front tires into the left rear shock. It smashed the shock and ricocheted into my brake caliper blowing my break line off causing all the brake fluid to bleed out and I lost full brakes. Had to make a improvised trail repair to make it to Wendover to get parts to fix it. Those guards would have helped for sure.
Yup, in stock at your local Cruiser Outfitters location
Undecided at this moment. I'm going to install a factory e-locker rear and possbily re-gear. If I do re-gear then I'll likely do the front ARB (and possibly do the rear ARB) at the same time. We just returned from a 4500 miles roundtrip with 4 adults, gear, food and spares and it wasn't as anemic as I imagined. Of course spending the majority of that time at or near sea level could have something to do with it.
... Also have not seen a factory e locker install. I wonder what the technicalities involved with that project are...

Kurt-
Great gear selection. I can tell you really did your research. Very few items on that list that I would change and those are specifically due to the type of wheeling I want my truck set up for. I'm looking forward to seeing the detailed install of the Helton.
We will do a full rear axle swap, i.e. source a used axle with the OE e-locker and swap it for my open axle.
Sounds cool... looking forward to seeing it happen. What's your reasoning over the ARB? Reliability?

nice build. A little of topic, but I am interested in why you chose a 100 series over an 80 series and what you see as the trade-offs between the two.
...Looking to buy the a 100 and wouldn't mind following in your footsteps when I start "tinkering" with it
