Hello from Green Bay, WI! Thank you Woody for letting us post our little project here.
We do a fairly large size car show in the Green Bay area. Freedom High Schools Auto Club provides 30 plus students to volunteer at the show. We have the coolest kids car build! Kids can stamp out a car, using aluminum, and assemble it. Last year our car was a Tank Belly Racer, this year a 1968 Corvette. These are the hardest working kids on the planet. They have an auto class that is second to none in the area with instructor Jay Abitz leading the way, they even has a paint booth. The show was this past weekend, we decided to donate a vehicle to them, to build, then raffle off next year to raise money for shop equipment, scholarships, and the like. Goal is 500 tickets at $50 to raise $25,000.
Which brings us here! The vehicle is a 1985 Toyota 4Runner! We are working with sponsors to drum up money for it's make over. Things we are looking at is:
getting it mechanically sound first
paint/body/partial wrap for sponsors
Lift kit, rims, tires
interior
exhaust (it fell off Sunday)
fuel system
We appreciate any and all advice. We are going to keep it fairly sane to keep cost in check, but would like to see it on 33's-35's.
This is picture heavy! You'll see the students working the model car at the show, and pics from the school. Thanks for having us! We plan to have this done and within the next 8-12 months. Any ideas for lift kits, mods, etc. are welcome! We do have a lift kit sponsor (money, not actual kit) that will do up to $2,000 for a quality kit.
Thank you for having us, stay tuned as we'll pull this into the Auto Shop within the next few weeks and get going! This little 4Runner will be the head of it's class!
