Really like this idea a LOT! My older BIOR bumper is "open" at the wheel well. It has no plate welded on. Curious how these would mount to that. I can, of course, have someone fab up some plate to close the ends if necessary.

I made a highly technical drawing to help with determining if the flaps will work with the BIOR.

The questions is: does the front edge of the bumper (red line) stick into the wheel well area past the holes in the body where the flaps screw on (green). That's really the only limiting factor. It can be a bit forward, but if it's too much, it may cause some issues.

Good news! My BIOR bumper is about 1/16" short of the wheel well. It's almost flush, but does not intrude into the well.

I'm still happy to provide my '99 with BIOR for a fit check for those interested (including me) in buying these.

By the way, we have had some super muddy weekends recently here in NM. We did some decently difficult trail riding and left the flaps on since it wasn't really rock crawling.

I was super pleased with how clean the flaps kept the truck. The others with us had mud caked in their sliders, up their doors, and covering the rear bumper. Mine was barely dirty.

What's the latest on these @Ramathorn15? I didn't see them go up for sale last month, or did I miss them?

They havent gone on sale yet. I'm exploring some options to make sure I get these exactly right the first go around. Its a slow and tedious process unfortunately, but I don't want the first customers to get an 80% product when I'm hoping the 100% is achievable in the very near future.

Thanks for your patients! I'll be sure to announce when the go on sale with enough lead time so everyone has an opportunity.

I’m interested in these. Just had to spend like 2 hours at the coin wash removing mud off my truck. These would definitely help with that problem.

Rami, I was driving behind you on the way out of work today. They look great. I want some. Unfortunately from your diagram/picture, I think there might be some interference with the BIOR wings. They protrude a little past the edge of the wheel well but not in a consistent manner. Might have to rig up some kind of spacer to clear that leading edge of the side wings that sticks forward.

Thabks Marc! I need to have you come over to the house soon to do a test fit. I'm still ironing out the small details but I have at least one kit ready to go.

I'll PM you soon. Since it looks like you're on the same Friday, maybe we can get together next Friday.

Let me know what works but my Friday next week is already booked solid. If I can get the 4Runner brakes fixed then the wife and kids have a vehicle that will free up the Cruiser from grocery getting and mall cruising duties.

I took these photos several weeks back. Crappy phone camera and bad lighting but you kind of get the gist of the potential interference.

Any thoughts on price point?

It's looking to be right around $200 +/- $20 for a full kit which includes a bunch of stainless 16 gauge bracketry, a waterproof canvas bag, stainless hardware, and the urethane.

The urethane is the most expensive piece. I've been trying to get the price down, but it's just an expensive material. For example, as a buyer of enough urethane for just one kit (not bulk), you'll spend $200-300. The prices are crazy. The urethane, if taken care of should last as long as these trucks though.

I'm also considering a cheaper, stiffer, plastic alternative. It would be for those wanting something semi disposable where they would likely need to replace them ever couple years.

Im really working to ensure these kits are as tough as our trucks.

The bag looked pretty sweet from what I could tell at HIH8.

That's one of the hold ups. Relying on a mother of two small babies to find time to sew is not sustainable lol. I'm hoping she can teach me how to make them until I can find a supplier who won't charge me a ridiculous amount for them.
