I can bring the sour cream, shredded lettuce, and shredded cheese for Saturday. For Sunday, I can bring the mayo and veggie burgers. I think my friends and myself will do our own dinner for Friday. As for Friday morning, I would like to meet up at the 101 and Cactus location for the convoy up to Bullhead City. What time should I meet at the 101 and Cactus location?

Good job stepping up on the food and thanks for letting the Friday night crew know they should count on three less.

0730 on Friday meet at north 86th pl. on the south side of Cactus rd. Try to be a few minutes early.

Shortly after 0800 we should meet up on carefree highway with @LongDuck and possibly others but will not be stopping. Everyone should have filled up before we start so we can drive all the way to bullhead city.

@Dimples we should pick you guys up along carefree highway or in wickenburg if you plan breakfast.

I'll bring shredded cheese and salsa, making a Costco run. I can get hotdog buns for those who don't want to use tortillas.

@Stepmurr was the canned cheese cheddar or some other flavor last time?
I favor the "sharp" cheddar cheese:

More than you ever wanted to know about canned cheese (including chemistry & fluid dynamics - test to follow!)

Easy Cheese - Wikipedia

Interesting snippets:
The product was first manufactured by Nabisco in 1965 and was marketed as Snack Mate until 1984. Advertisements often displayed the orange product adorned in flowy peaks atop several different types of hors d’oeuvres. As a 1966 advertisement says, it was “instant cheese for instant parties."

Easy cheese exhibits pseudoplastic behaviors during extrusion of the product and is represented using the Herschel-Bulkley Model:

{\displaystyle \sigma =K{\dot {\gamma }}^{n}}
9df6859be1bd77bebbefb2ad8dbfd8f55567f6c1

This power law model represents a type of non-Newtonian fluid relating shear rate and sheer stress with viscosity.[10] As cheese is pushed out of the can shear rate increases causing a decrease in viscosity and higher flow rates of the material. In this case, the cheese behaves more as a fluid. After it is expelled, there is no more shear rate and the cheese retains its original higher viscosity. Here, the cheese behaves like a solid.

@LongDuck I will be cooking with the csc grill not wood or charcoal. Safer and easier to carry. I am also bringing my gas fire ring.

@Saddletramp are you planning to stop for breakie in Wikenburg, or just doing a straight drive to bullhead?

Inside the park we can have a fire if we bring the wood and we collect the ash to carry out. I surest charcoal for Dutch I've, and gas campfires for ambiance.
I was going to bring a lot of wood, but since I don't have an 'asheroo, I won't bother unless y'all want me to bring the wood.

Potty breaks only if needed I was thinking wikiup possibly but if people need breaks we can stop @Dimples

Bring wood anyway just in case. I will bring ways to haul trash. @LongDuck if you bring that big ammo can we ca use it to haul ash if needed.

Can we do Horseshoe?

If people want Horseshoe cafe, they need to be up in wikenburg early. I won't be going as I'm going to need my beauty sleep.

@Saddletramp if you haven't picked up the salsa yet, I can bring that too. Believe me when I say I have plenty at the house. We usually pick up a case every time we go to Costco.

Can we have a final headcount say by Wed night so that those participating in the potlucks can know how much of what to bring? Looks like it is coming together nicely.

I was planning to start the drive early and just meet everyone in Bullhead. Less traffic to contend with, and give myself a little more relaxed drive.

"Hauling ash"? I only plan to drive the speed limit!

You would think California of all states wouldn't mind a little decomposed carbon ash dispersed in the middle of the Mohave Desert, but oooookay...

I'll think of some other dessert item and leave the Dutch Oven at home. Will probably give me an additional .000001 mpg, anyway. Hey, every little bit counts!

I will bring Peanut Butter Crack for a small dessert.

I updated our list of attendees in my first post. As we fill in names for potluck, @Abigail will add names next to the items for each night.

Please post up any changes, I'm hoping we have the final list by Wednesday evening. Right now we have 15 or 16 trucks and approximately 22 people. Some are planning on doing their own cooking but for people wanting counts I would use 22 people.

Trash hauling will be a chore for a group this size, each person should plan on hauling their own trash. Stay away from glass bottles and jars if you can, these so not compact like aluminum or plastic.

Make sure you have read the California firearm rules and regulations, they are not as intuitive or flexible as Arizona's. No mags greater than 10 rounds, all guns need to be in a locked case with the lock on the case not allowing opening.

I am sure we will get a visit from the NPS since they know where we are going to be, and I need to check in 24 hours before we enter the Preserve. CSC has a great reputation and We all should plan on keeping it that way.

As far as trash goes removing any extra packaging at home helps greatly reduce the load. I will have a lot of extra space in my trasharoo if anyone comes up short on space.

Sorry everyone, the forum wasn't notifying me that there were all these postings and I've just been too busy to get online until now. I was wondering why everyone was so quiet. Funny though, the classified thread notifies me everytime.

Anyway, I believe we still need tortilla chips and hot dog buns? If so I will grab a few packages of each. Anything else???

My brother is flying in Thursday night and we plan to get a head start first thing Friday morning as we plan to do our groceries in Bullhead City.

I will bring as much firewood as I can stuff in my trasharoo. I could possibly throw some more on my roof rack if we think we'll need a lot. Happy to contribute however I can!
