Predictions: Bigger Tires?

Will a 285/70r18 that measures 33.75" fit? That is my question. I believe we are talking millimeters here and will find that while one 285 snugs up maybe the next won't.
Yes, that's basically what I've seen so far. Occasionally someone says they got it to fit but most people who have tried says it doesn't. 275/70R18 everyone I've found who has tried, it fit. Some say it does hang down noticeably more though.

Toyo AT3 275/70/18. Fits great.

Am I missing something, where are the 255/70R18. Some of us like tall and skinny vs fat and round.
I did 255/85R17 or 80 not sure exactly. If I could have gone with more narrow I would have. They look quite beefy as it is and more useful than big wide tires. Unless you're driving on ice where you need to float.

Picked up my 1958 model Friday and got new tires Saturday.
Went with LT 275 70 18 BFG KO3’s. It fills out the wheel wells and just barely fits in the spare tire location. Not sure if you could go any bigger and have the correct size spare tire. The dealer gave me $500 credit on the stock 245 70 18’s. Does anyone know it the speedo automatically corrects for different tire size. I checked my GPS at 70 mph and it was 70 on the dash display.

Same size tire on mine, only I have the Falken Wildpeak AT/4.

When my speedo says 78, my GPS says I'm doing 77.9 mph. My guess is the stock speedometer is around 2 to 3 mph faster than actual.

I have had the same experience on my 1958 with my speedo being pretty darn accurate for 275/70R18 KO3s. Maybe all models are calibrated for the larger tires of the LC and FE models?

Toyotas are calibrated roughly 3% below actual speed. They have been that way on all my trucks.

I wish I would have thought to check the gps on stock 245 70 18’s before getting the 275 70 18’s.
