It's a Countdown DVD. A compilation of all the good songs from back in the day. A great DVD.
 
I gave the ol' girl a service this afternoon. I've still got a couple of small jobs to do to it this week before I go. Hopefully I'll get them all done. If I don't I'll have to do them along the road somewhere. Probably at the first nights camp:rolleyes:

I'm planning a cross country trip by way of the back roads and off the interstate to see nature in her glory so all the pics and ideas in this forum are great. Haven'y seen a water tank like that around here in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky (home of Jim Beam) part of mid-west USA. I've been working on a system of modular add-ons and modifications (mod mods) so I can mix and match as needs dictate and most of it is removable so I can switch back to stock 7-passenger configuration when needed. I'm working on a 12 volt multi-outlet system with AC/DC inverter mounted to a removable board all running off a second battery. Tech changes so fast and I like the portability and swapability of my laptop, Garmin 76C GPS, rearview camera, and MP3 player that I take biking, hiking, kayaking or whatever.
Love to see more and hope to post pics soon.

I think my :princess: would like it if the 80 was easy to change back to 7 seats too. It took a lot of convincing to allow me to pull out the rear seats permanently. Seeing as it is just the :princess: and me I'd like to pull out the middle row too. I don't think that is likely to happen though:rolleyes:.

Your idea of a multiple outlet 12V system sounds good. To make it easily removable an Anderson plug would allow quick disconnecting without too much voltage drop.

I made mine in a box rather than a board to give it a bit of protection. It insulates the rear as well as protection from physical damage. I know mines not waterproof due to the cig lighter plugs but it is splashproof. Mounting an inverter in a box would require ventilation holes as well. The AC outlets could be mounted on the outside of the box. For safeties sake make sure you use an RCD.
 
Nearly ready now. Just tidying up a few little things.

I have one more day at work and then I start packing.

I still haven't mounted the air tank yet. I was planning on using a 9kg fire extinguisher bottle. I got to the stage of making a mount for it but I had second thoughts about the weight of the set up and the strength of the bracket. Especially with all the corrugations out there. Also it hangs down a little bit more than I thought it would.

I decided to buy a new fire extinguisher for the car as the old one was about ten years old. The old one I emptied, it was a 1kg bottle. It is only a fraction of the size of the other tank but still heaps bigger than the ARB one. This smaller one weighs a heap less and will be heaps easier to mount. I bought a mikalor clamp the right size and now all I have to do is get a little bit of angle iron and drill a couple of holes. It will end up sitting a heap higher too giving me a bit of extra ground clearance.

I have to make a simple bracket to mount the Engel digital thermometer to the bottom of the dash. At the moment it is just sitting on the top of the transmission tunnel. I'll knock it up during my lunchbreak tomorrow.

A second spare tyre has been a bit of a drama. I haven't been able to find a second hand 80 series GXL steel 16 x 8 rim. Yesterday I got the $#!^$ and went and just ordered a new MT/R and 16 x 8 steel spoked rim. I was fast running out of time before I left so I bought the new ones just to be sure.

I have got a couple of other things for the trip. A spare UHF aerial, new mapping software, a new laptop 12v power adaptor.

Just going out the door now.

I've managed to get everything done, just:rolleyes:.

I haven't had time to get any photos resized and uploaded yet. One evening while in camp I'll post some up. I might even start a thread on the trip in the trails- events- expeditions forum. I'll post a link in here so you all can find it.

Having a ball on the trip so far. I have about 1500 photos already and I am only half way through the trip so far. You'll have to wait till I get back though. I need to resize them and I'm just on dial up here.

I'm back now. Had a great trip.

2600+ photos for the trip. I'll start uploading some soon.

I'll fill you all in on what broke and what didn't. Some of the stuff I fitted didn't work out like I hoped.
 
Look fwd to seeing some croc shots etc etc!

The part no.s are -

Power steering box (RHD) - 44110-60202

Pitman Arm - 45411-60390

These part no's belong to late model 6 cyl 100 series solid axle LC as an update so in the so i would imagine the applies to the US:cheers:
