nice, first shot i've seen of a top shelf door over the gate, awesome idea!

That looks tops Mick, I like that big water tank.
Have a top time mate cause I'm damn jelous.

very cool. I like how you can access the top drawer with the gate closed, and the table is sweet!

Thanks, Mlachica
The table and top drawer was the :princess:s idea. After we gave it a trial fit we saw the drawer was just a bit short of opening with the tailgate up so we had a brainstorming session and the :princess: thought of this arrangement. I think it works really well too.

Thanks PabloVTA,

I wanted the top level to be flat over the top of the fridge so I had excess space available to me.

G'day Topend

Only a week and a half till I go:bounce::bounce2::bounce:

I'll have a  or five for ya in the desert;)

Today has been a public holiday here in OZ, ANZAC Day. I took advantage of the extra day to get ready for the trip.

I got my Ram-Mounts in the mail yesterday.

Laptop install 001.webp

I fitted them today and finished putting the interior back together. I made a mount for the HF radio remote head as well.

Laptop install 004.webp

I got the GPS mount as well. I'm not sure if I'll keep it in this location or if I'll find a better spot.

Laptop install 008.webp

Whoa whoa whoa. Stop everything.

Is that Jim Beam Bourbon in a can? Or is it some sort of beer? If it is bourbon in a can, I am moving to Australia sometime later today.

Bravo, Mick! Well thought out and executed. I gotta try one of those Jim Beam Colas though I already know exactly how it should taste!

On the Jim Beam US website, it is indeed a bourbon/cola mix. So, I assume it is available here, along with Ginger Ale/Beam too.

Mickldo,
Will you be field testing that RAM mount before the big trip? If you can post how well it does offroad. Thanks.

I looked on the site and cannot find it.

Anyway, as Mickey Rubicon or Yakov Smirnov might say: "What a country!"

Jim Beam makes cola? Does it have bourbon in it?

What is going on?

MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm................Bourbon...................

I had it fitted when I drove to work yesterday. The spring on the laptop tray vibrates a heap. I'm going to fit a piece of plastic hose over the spring to see if that helps. It does shake a bit even traveling on the black top. I probably have the base a bit too high giving it a bit too much leverage, letting it shake too much. Maybe I could make a support from the passenger grab rail. It would have to be quick release though for ease of removal when not in use.

I probably won't get a chance to test it offroad between now and when I go. I leave next weekend and I have a heap of work to do yet.

Well what are you doing on the net??
Get working and stop showing off all the good drinks we get over here.L.O.L.
Can you post pics from the middle of the desert on youre laptop on your trip???
Or am I dreaming??

Hey topend

This arvo I started making the bracket for the air tank. I ran out of light to continue and the Engel had a few drinks inside that were calling my name. What was I to do?

I'm trying to organise a wireless broadband card for my laptop for the trip. If it works out I'll have internet wherever I have Next G access. Hopefully I'll be able to keep you all updated on a semi regular basis. While I am spectating at the Outback Challenge I should be able to upload pics nightly. The rest of the time it will just be whenever I have access.

Good on ya mate , keep up the good work.
Whats with the Wonder years DVD???
Thought you would be watching 4WD monthly DVD's.
