According to the parts catalog they are interchangeable 98-02. Be sure the part looks correct because I have seen listings on Ebay that show a control for a 97-98. That will not work. There may be a few additional wires as shown above by @YardPig but they "probably" will not be critical They could be for the rear heat. The original poster had a different pinout than I did. I had rear heat wires even though my vehicle is not equipped with rear heat.

The LC and LX controllers are completely interchangeable according to everything I have read here from a 98-02. The 4 plugs are completely interchangeable. So if you want a 3 knob pick it up. If you have a LX you may need to get stereo brackets as listed in the thread.

Use car-part.com to find one close by for pigtails. That is what I did. I found junk yards tough to deal with on the phone but others were able to get pigtails without issues. Contact seller and see if it is still in the vehicle and ask for plugs. YMMV

I just bought one on ebay, I asked the vendor if they could cut and send them before I bought and they said they could. They didn't show up with the control initially, but they have been working with me on getting the plugs and length of wire sent to me, they are on the way. Fingers crossed.

@YardPig In those pictures you posted there is a blue/black, and violet wires next to each other, do you know what those are for, what the abbreviations are in the EWD, or any info on them? (from the white and grey plugs together in the pic)

never mind, I found it.

Please share what you have found. It will help others. As I have shown the plug configurations do differ through the years and my assumption is the difference between rear heat fan dash button and third row rear a/c roof controls.

Some other items that can help your stereo conversion.
Trying to stay on topic here with the NAV delete but the conversion to a different head unit is a given.
All are readily available online. There will be arguments on how plug and play the Metra harness is, some say wiring loops are required, but regardless it supplies an out of the box option to route your wiring from under the seat to your new head unit.

Antenna splitter to take advantage of both fender antenna and quarter glass antenna. Remember to also get the antenna adapter because the quarter glass antenna is the micro GM size.

Metra amp bypass harness shown with the 'quick connect' radio harnes that is included.

Without getting too wordy, I'm working on the 06 AC amplifier plugs. A Puerto Rico non nav 06 has three unaccounted for wires into the AC amp (3 out of 60 or so). Two of which are blue/black, and violet. The later 100s have two ECU wires and a speed (violet) wire going into a whole different plug already. I was cross referencing sort of, looking for more blue/black wires. I didn't download and read your guys print out before I posted. These wires are not in the wiring book or the FSM volumes.

there's 69 wires, 3 of whichI can't nail down and it's bugging me to no end. I'm also looking for the pin out of the board side for the AC amp, part #88650-60B80
I was also leaning on the puerto rico non nav as also having no rear AC, but it has a fan switch in the lower hvac control. So I don't know really.

Got my 4 pigtails in the mail yesterday for my Ebay control unit, now to find my radio and a slow (& hopefully warmer!) weekend.

Man Bill I thought you would have been done last summer :)

I would recommend Crutchfield for the radio. If you are doing the speakers they usually have some deal where they give you half off speakers and provide amp bypass if you want it or other wiring stuff free. Glad you finally got those pigtails. Junkyards are very difficult to deal with in my experience.

LOL! Well TXS, all I can say is you are still getting to know me :) I tend to have multiple projects going between the house and cars and friends and what not, none of which get my full attention so they tend to take forever to finish. This year has been a crazy one personally, but even when everything is copacetic stuff takes me a while to compile and plan and get completed. We are getting there! :)

Non-nav stereo brackets. You will require these to make your new Android head unit fit properly without major surgery of your NAV brackets. Pony up and do it right is my moto. Plug and play.

Thanks to all those that contributed to this project. I completed this project tonight but am having some issues...

Everything that I can check has been double checked. I have a rear AC and heat 2002 truck. I am going from the MFD to the 3 dial panel.

Put the battery on and I get the ac blower fan on if the ac is on.

I also noticed when turning to the coldest setting that when the compressor came on, the engine really hesitated and then returned to normal.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like maybe a ground issue? Did you do a few 3 way taps with the ground wires? Are you saying you only get the blower if the AC is on? On a morning like today in Texas you may have to turn it down to get it to call for AC and the compressor usually kicks on and the engine RPM drops. When I am idling I really notice every time the compressor kicks on. It drops the RPM. Does everything else work? Hazard, CDL, Clock, Temp on clock, seatbelt lights?

Everything works as it should that I can tell... Mirror Heaters, Rear Def, AC controls, Diff Lock, Hazrds, and the AC blower fan works as well. The only issue seems to be I need to manually turn off the fan when I turn the truck off and take the key out. I can turn the AC fan on and off w/o the key. It seems to be constant hot w/o ignition. The Antenna up and down does not work, also but I figured that is from not having a stereo in it now.

Edit: Info added
I do have the 1 three wire ground and the 1 four wire ground.

I have an Orange wire not connected on 24A and a White/ Green wire not connected on 20D.

Did you do the 12v modification to keep your cigarette plugs hot all the time? Are you working on this now?

No, I have not.

I may have some confusion here:

I have 12A and 11A ties into both 21G and 8E. I have a total of 4 wires spliced together here. Is this correct?
