Rounded off the plunger nut to the power steering gearbox, I have one more that I am trying to rebuild, anybody have tips to get it out? I tried hitting it with some pb blaster, but I don’t think it would tech the threads and make a difference. The metal seemed pretty soft, as it didn’t take much to round it off. Thanks.

Use a left hand drill bit or this tool I carry with me on trail runs called Rescue Bit in left hand twist. It’s possible that during the drilling you will back the bolt out. If not, you will have hole there to facilitate use of a bolt extractor.

I thought about doing so, just worried about damaging the worm gear behind it.
