power antenna

I just replaced to antenna mast(amazon purchase) and when to mast retracts the motor continues to run for 15-20 seconds with noise that sound like to teeth a jumping. I pulled the new mast back out and the teeth all look good.
Any suggestions before I switch to a stubby?

Once you have it in, extend the antenna all the way out and all the way in using the button on the dash, see if that resolves it.

Take out the antenna motor, clean the gears, re grease it, look for the left over plastic teeth of the older mast and try again.

I will do that. It does sound like the teeth a jumping/skipping

After snapping the antenna andreplacing it with a cheapy and snapping that one as well, I have bought the GME AEM3 FM antenna.
Still waiting for it to arrive, but see how that one copes with the punishment.
