Potential TLCA Club Discussion

I sent out an email to tlca members, excluding those I already know are interested, to try to get some people involved to help organize.

Check out this page to see what needs to be done to become a chapter:

Hope we get some interest rolling and we'll schedule a meeting...

Some views on this thread I see, not a lotta discussion though:)

Any ideas on an initial meeting? Harrisburg worked well for last year's attempt to get myself off my:censor: and get moving on this chapter of TLCA. I am excited for this possibility, it will be fun.

I am always one to suggest a day at Rausch Creek Offroad Park in November to meet and greet (and maybe wheel a little too) with maybe a cookout at the end of the day. That could start us all off in the right way:grinpimp:

Or a meeting at a place of good food where we could teleconference others into the meeting if the distances are too much.

At any rate, I've managed to discuss:D

not everybody that owns a cruiser(s) likes to 'wheel.
i like working on them, and talking about and looking at them, but have little desire to break them.

Thanks again for making the calls Chris, so nice of you!

For the record, we are at 20 people with interest... that is a really pleasing number actually. I was not sure we would get 5!

Hope the interest is generating for an initial meeting sometime soon. I'll send an email out soon... if anyone has any suggestions, let us know.

Hey Everybody

Sorry I haven't really kept in touch with any of you guys, life has just been so damn hectic lately. I'm definately interested in forming a local chapter and being a member/contributor of it. Problem is I just joined the Army, and I'll be gone for a lil while. So if we can hook up sometime before I leave it would be cool. Probably won't be leaving till after Thanksgiving now, was supposed to leave the 25th last month but s*** happened and I have to wait. Anyways its only the reserves so after basic/AIT I'll be home and be able to be active in the club and actually start some work on my Cruisers. I havent been to any of the wheeling parks since CMCC but have done a lil bit of damage to my '89, twisted front drive shaft, rear window blow out, basically all lights/lenses smashed, half my exhaust gone and plenty of body damage. :whoops: But she still runs and is now on 35s but they kinda suck compared to those swampers I was running. The '88s frame is underneath the body and almost ready to be put back together. When I'm back from my training I'll have enough cash to finish it finally and make the 89 the offroad beast I want it to be.
So, when and where can the couple of us local guys gather to talk about the upcoming local chapter formation? Thanks Jeff for getting the ball rolling on this whole thing. Looking forward to seeing you guys again soon.

Count me in as well...haven't had time to do any wheeling or socializing...but as you can see here

I haven't been just doing nothing either. I'll probably be out in the Chambersburg area thereabouts Turkey Day, if your thinking of another get together at the Hooters in Carlise....or wasn't someone familiar with some logging roads out that way that we could at least take in the scenery.

I am not super familiar with south central area....but there is a brew pub in Gettysburg (Appalachin Brewing Co.) that has decent suds. I'd like to keep my shuffle in the 2-2.5 hour drive range max.

I sent this note out via email

I am hoping the majority of people interested can make this proposed date. I am sure there will be some conflicts with people's schedule but it would be very helpful for the cause if everyone could try to make accomodations this time. We can try to better ascertain the most agreeable future meeting time/day/place etc. at this initial meeting. I am hopeful that we will get a nice turn out and be able to organize from this point of departure.

Please know that if you show interest and show up, you are not obligated to take on responsibility, commitment, other requirements, etc. This is simply an organizational meeeting to start up this venture.

I am wishful to accomplish a resolution on the intent to organize. Also, it would be helpful to establish president, treasurer, and secretary positions (at least interim). We can then outline the expectations we have as agroup and some ideas for future gatherings.

I am suggesting 7 PM at a place to eat, have drinks, and discuss. If you have a suggestion for a place in Harrisburg, please let me know by posting on the ih8mud board or reply to this email.

I would really appreciate an RSVP so I know how many people to expect. I can then inform the facility.

If anyone wants to come but wants to carpool, please "reply to all" or post up on the ih8mud board (https://forum.ih8mud.com/forumdisplay.php?f=77).

I will be driving down from the Danville area so anyone wanting to ride with me, let me know. Those from north of Danville can surely drive to my house and I will drive from there.

Thanks for reading and your interest. I look forward to see a parking lot full of Toy 4X4's at this meeting!

P.S. feel free to forward this information to other potential members.
