Thanks - very interesting. Would hate to see the LC go to the new F-platform - the 100 is ideal size as it is. Wish they would offer the new LC in different trim pkgs, too as they do abroad. Hopefully, too, a hybrid V-8 is in the cards for 2008. Maybe I'm in the fantasy world, too.

they probably will only offer the higher end version of the lc here in us. they want it to be above sequioa. it would be nice if they did offer the various different trim levels. For i do love trim.

Maybe they will, as some of you say, make more of a differation between the LC and LX.

With the FJ Cruiser, 4Runner and LC ; they have 3 nice stepping stones for truck-suv owners. Instead of a de-contented LX, maybe the next LC will have a more "offroader" focus.

It would make sense for product planning, since right now the LX and LC are too close to really be considered different models.
The LX will most certainly get bigger, since the current interior is basically the same dimensions as the GX (LX/LC still have a bigger cargo area tho).

Sequoia should be the RAV4, Highlander stepping stone imo. That way they have 2 nice "family trees" for customers to grow into.

And the unibody construction and the Jeep IFS which doesn't compare favorably to Toyota IFS. Jeep figured out how to make IFS worse than I thought possible

I bet it will look more like a larger 4th generation 4runner with different front and rear treatments. It will have the modern flowing lines like the new FJ, but I bet they want a family "look" so the 4runner/Sequoia will be closer to the new look then the present Landcruiser.

I like the front end of the GX and the 4runner and I like the side view of the 4runner but I don't like the ass end view of either one, but I think the rearend of the GX is the worst. But this is all personal opinion. What I have noticed of all of the new designs is that normally I am not attracted to them at first and then over time I end up liking them and some I end up loving. I remember in the old days I loved the mustang when it first came out. I loved the 240Z when it first came out. Some of these new designs I guess have to grow on me kind of like mold.

Yeah, I am just now beginning to warm up to the current 4-runner design. Initially, I thought they ruined it, but its starting to grow. Not overly crazy about the back ends of either GX or 4-runner or the squared off fenders on the Runner. The front-end on the GX is very sharp and hopefully the new LC will take cues from it. But I'm not holding my breath.

Next years 4runner has been freshened up, it is essentially the same, but one of the things they updated is the rear fenders, they will be round, instead of squared off, it should be quite an improvement

Finally they got rid of the squared off fenders. I hate those things. Round fenders should make tire clearance better too!

jjbodean - do you think 2008 model year is also redesign date for the next generation LC? Just don't see them introducing any earlier, but then again, the 2007 model year is the 50th anniversary year, I believe.
