I don't know if this guy will think I am a jerk for putting this out there, but I wonder if this guy could possibly make them:

I asked in the thread and he declined saying "I've had no interaction with FJ55's, so it's more or less out of my league."

I do not think 55s are out of his league based on what he has made.

Since I have no experience with the actual early dash cap, I wonder if the folks who do offered to help him with all the details related to setting this up, maybe he would take the plunge into the scary world of the Iron Pig?

I found a site that does aftermarket toyota truck interior pieces and they showed a listing to the 55 dash cap...I'll have to dig thru the history to find it- some obscure hole in the wall place, but not defunct....somehow I was remiss in reporting it here sooner...
 
just redo your dash pad. there was a guy who did his with foam, sanded it down and painted. you couldn't tell and it looked awesome. I don't recall his thread title though. I plan on doing this to mine

I'll be doing something similar to this. I restored a dash on my old e30 bmw and will be attempting to do the same with my pig
