Front rad/headlight support panel is out. Metal power steering lines out.
Happy to find original frame so shiny after cleaning.
Another interesting VM difference. Looks like the front frame area was sand blasted and spayed with a silver coating/paint. The difference between the two areas is striking.

Nice swap!
Looking forwart to see the position of the transfercase with the automatic transmission.

By the way witch transfercase setup are you going to have?

I was looking at doing this conversion in my 73 series, should go tops when its done mate.

Me too! There'll be some cutting and welding needed, but should work out. We will see!
I have the full time HF2A transfer case.

Yes, she's going to fly. Currently driving a 12ht powered BJ73 in Tenerife. The power is UNREAL!!! Have never accelerated up hill and passed other trucks in a 73 before. Can't image what it's going to be like with a 1 HDT!

Doing a little R&D and some R&R in Tenerife. Getting measurements for engine mounts from a HZJ73. Light off roading and exploring the island with some friends.

For the engine mount would you be able to use a troopys 1hz mounts and cut them off the chassis. Not sure about where you live, but in Australia troopys are everywhere. Is the 1hz and 1hdt block the same? If they are a troopy and bj73 have a similar chassis. Sorry not trying to hijack the thread.

Wow! Those are some awesome rigs! Those troopies are bad a**

Yes. I ordered the 1hz/70 series mounts from Toyota. The blocks are the same. Also ordered 70 series mounts for the engine as they are different than the 80 series mounts currently on the motor.
I'm in Nashville, TN. Very limited number of Troopys rolling around here!!! New oem parts was the best/easiest way to go!

Hey Chris, welcome to Tenerife. Lots of great low mileage diesel 40 & 70 series on these islands.

If you don't mind me asking how much was the chassis/engine mounts, that might be easier for me too

Chris,

Have you noted the overall length of the A442F and HF2A(V), versus H55 and BF1A, or mind measuring when you get to mating?

I've concerns over length of A343F (should be same as A442F) and HF2A(V) length, and it's impact on rear driveshaft angles.

Having nothing but frame details and info online to assume from, but appears the the two will be 13" longer than the H55/BF1A.

Can buy 3-4" swapping HF2A(V) into an HF2A case, since (V) was pulled and have the non-V case, but that's still a lot of additional length in the drivetrain. Not being certain that the engine may not have to move back 2", too, and general concern is the rear driveline angle that may result.

Anyhow...I've been thinking about and forgot the content of thread.
