Just place an order for the 3.11:1 Trail gear crawler gear. Did you replace any bearings or seals while you were in there @bryanb?

I don't think so. Everything looked good. Just go over the instructions (both Trail Gear's and Marlin's) a few times first and be careful during the process. Feel free to reach out with any questions.

I'd mark the collar with the beveled edge with a paint pen so you can't put it in wrong. (see above) Make darn sure you know that your CDL switch on the dash is synched with the position of the CDL inside the case. Otherwise you'll be pulling the CDL actuator and shifting the thing by hand.

I pulled my case out of the truck to do this work. I was able to keep things much cleaner and not have to work on my back so it was worth it for me. You have to clearance the case a bit and cut the oil slinger flange back & then you'll want to clean the heck out of everything. Great upgrade. Good luck!

I just finished this upgrade, but I’be got a problem. CDL indicator light is not coming on. I checked the plugs and all’s good, I hear the in cab relay click and the actuator motor whir when I press it. I think I messed up the actuator / shift fork interface (I hadn’t read the FSM and I think I spun the actuator gear when I put it in).

Sounds like what Too Tall Dave said, I’ll have to open it back up, shift into diff lock by hand, and reinstall the actuator.

Anyone been here and have guidance to offer?

You can do this while the tcase is in the truck. It's a bit awkward, but you can remove the shift motor and reach in and activate the cdl manually, then reinstall the motor.
