I have a silver 2016 Land Cruiser and find factory wheels boring being silver as well. I don't see any 18" Toyota wheels that catch my attention. The cool TRD stuff is 17".

I am thinking about plastic dipping them in Anthracite-Grey color (black seems blend in with tires)
Anthracite Grey

Any thoughts on Plastic Dip, other options to consider or other color that will go better with silver?

do it, it'll look way better! The S is super easy to work with and if ya don't like it just pull it off...

I think Anthracite Grey will look better than black color, so do it. Put 4-6 coats of plastidip to make it durable.

Great looking truck! Dip 'em! It's the best bang for your buck on a visual mod.

Do it, but add the glossifier so it will last longer.
If you buy the kit you will have enough left for touch ups.

Order placed. Will share before and after pictures when the project is done. For sure will be applying the glossifier. Mate finish is not my thing. Thanks for the feedback.

Awesome supra!

Has anyone done the chrome pieces on the doors? I am thinking about doing them, thoughts? My only concern is the chrome trim piece on rear windows isn't removable, so they'd have to be done on the truck.

some folks on here have done that - I wouldn't worry about it - its like makeup for cars.

Any pics of dark gray/gunmetal/anthracite Plasti-dipped or painted OEM wheels on a white LC?

i wish I took pictures. As soon as I have done it, I have removed it. I didn't like the way it looks + how the plastic Dip feels to touch. Took the remaining bottles plastic dip and used it cover my boat wheels since were showing corrosion. As well was able to get the 80s Porsche look of leaving the lip chrome which help the old trailer more visually appearing.

I have a (mostly) relevant pic to share:

This is our 2011 X5M with ~5-6 coats of anthracite grey AND a single pass of pearlizer on the stock 20" wheels. Anthracite grey looks far, far better than flat black, and I thought the very light pearlizer coat made them pop. Easy to do in an afternoon.

Very nice, is that Plasti Dip brand or some other? Were the tires mounted when you applied it?

Yes PlastiDip brand out of a rattle can, no wheels were not mounted on the car - I pulled them off to spray them.

I had bought a box of 6 anthracite gray cans for my E55 and only used a few before I sold the Merc. Reminds me that I also did the wheels and badges on the E55 the same color:

Also, PROTIP: A rattle can spray handle like this is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugely helpful in both allowing you to angle where you're spraying, as well as (and more importantly) laying down a consistent coat, while keeping your fingers clean too.

I used Plastidip. It took some effort that's for sure. Using a heat gun will help speed up the time between coats. I take my truck through the car wash once a week and was pleasantly surprised to find it holds up well. I'm about 4 months in and have touched up two wheels once each. It IS though getting to the point where I want to rip it off and start over on one of the wheels that's gotten nicked up and just doesn't look right after touch-ups. And I'm contemplating whether I want to go through it again. And again.

Plastidip is great! It definitely takes some effort to get it to work well, though. It's not quite the miracle worker that some people make it out to be. I've used it on my wife's Outback and my Titan. I just used the standard black rattle can without any glossifiers... It almost feels 'soft' to the touch, but it's surprisingly durable.
