Fellow swinelovers, today was a great day for me since it was the first time i went further than a mile or two from my home in my newly 4-wheel disc brake equipped pig. I drove it out to my parents home, about 30 miles away along some back roads which wrapped around 2 reservoirs, a dam and even ran across a fj40. To top it off, my wife was excited to get in and take it on its maiden voyage! It was cool. My family has 4 different generations of cruisers now, a 40, 55, 80 and a 100. It was like a reuinion.

During the prep to get it on the road, i realized after filling it up with gas that the fuel tank filler hose leaks where it is clamped to the gas tank. I tightened the clamp but still leaks. Looked on the usual suspects sites for a replacement but no luck, say they are discontinued. Has anyone replaced theres with a compatable hose?

That is great!

I'm wrapping my disc brakes up now and hope to be doing the same in the next few weeks. We'll see...

Congrats and remember the pics.

My fuel filler hose is ghetto-fabbed. The old one cracked on the clamping surfaces, so I cut off the ends, spliced the thing, and inserted a piece of aluminized tubing so that it would be long enough again. Ghetto, but it works, and doesn't leak.

Thanks guys, i dont have any pics right now because my laptop is my work computer and they dont allow us to download pics off cameras. Ill find a way around it though.

Im getting a hood and hopefully a gas tank filler hose from tfdcruiser sunday, going to meet him down at the Pomona swap meet. After that i need fenders without rust, my front floorboards replaced, and the roof repaired. That will hopefully be all the rust issues that need to be addressed.

Im debating doing the spring over conversion and power steering first or the rust repair?
