I've got an October 1982 HJ47 RHD where the PO added a whole bunch of wiring, most of which doesn't seem to be connected to things. I had issues with the tail lights because he had separated the green wire coming out of the dash by two other wires and I'm starting the process of eliminating all unnecessary wiring (not connected). But my problem is I don't know how the wiring is supposed to look (schematics aren't very helpful for me yet).
Would someone mind taking a few pictures of what the wiring in your similar model HJ47 looks like coming out of the dash, going to the six-pin connector and then going elsewhere? I've also included pictures here that if you could also replicate so I can see what it should look like (and maybe answer a couple of questions I have about them. thank you! (so basically, pics of wires out of dash on driver's side; out of dash on passenger side and where the driver's side headlight area is)
This first one is on the passenger side of my RHD. Wires come out below and right from the cab. Anyone know what that blue disconnected wire on top of the connector is about?
This second one is on the driver's side and is coming down from the firewall behind the dash where the wires from the fusebox are coming from. Some of the wires are diverted to the right and some are diverted toward the rear (connected to the six-pin connector) and some are diverted toward the right headlight area (although those are out of view). As you can see, it's a mess. The yellow and red striped wire that goes to the fuel sender was cut at the six-pin but a by-pass was put in that is visible in the photo. The wire that goes to that big green connector isn't connected to anything. there are several bullet connectors (two of which are useless and divert the purpose of the green tail light wire). A picture of what this should look like would be really helpful.
Another picture of the same area but from underneath the truck
Finally, same area but showing a two-pin connector also with the green and red and blue wires going to it.
The next one shows the wires that came from the fuse box at the firewall and then diverted (some wires) toward the headlight (with radiator to the left). So the large white connector goes to the headlight. Two others (one's missing) go to the horn? Two blue wires and one white with occasional red stripe going nowhere (white and occasional red stripe goes to the headlight but don't know why. the headlight and brights work with just the two others. It would be nice to see what all the wires in this area are supposed to look like.
