Ok I’m keeping it same color then thank you didn’t know thatIf you change the color no matter how good of job they do you will always be able to tell that it was a color change
Unless you have the whole cab off the frame, sand blast the whole thing and repaint it , then there is zero evidence but I have yet to see someone go thru those measures on a repaint
This would have include inside all door ,tail gate and hatch. inner and outer front finders. removing every piece of the interior and I mean every piece.
On something like a 40 series it's doable still a lot of work. On a more modern rig like a 80 it's a monumental task !!

You know, I guess I'm missing the big deal here. What does it matter unless someone was trying to hide something? If you're talking resale value,,,,,maybe. But if an extensive investigation took place which would include VIN and door plates, it would be exposed anyway. There is no penalty or law broken to change colors. I mean it's not like turning the odometer back or hiding a fault. I love my emerald green 80, but it's not the color that endears it to me.
It’s the OCD in me, and ya resale.
As a high end contractor doing remodeling work I prided my self when no one could tell that work had been done or changes were made.
It was a big selling point.
To me nothing worse the opening the hood and seeing a different color or worse someone that didn’t pay the extra money to get the door jams painted when they did a color change.
I can’t count how many time I have repainted the armor on my rig when I know I’m just going to go out on the next hard trail and beat it up again.
It’s called taking pride in your things !
Unless you have really deep pockets stay with the OEM color.
If done right no one will know that it ever got repainted

Keep the original color. If you absolutely cannot stand the color you have, look for another 80.

A bit late to the party but i didn't hesitate to swap out my 6M1 for 045. I had a chap on mud do the work. I have dozens of photos of the process. Panels came off, glass came out and every detail was addressed. Best thing i ever did. Just get a good dude who give a sh!t and you're 90% of the way there.
I go to sleep every night thinking about this! JAJAJJAJA

Some paint stores will mix the paint in a spray can for you if you bring them the paint code. There is a chance it will be a tiny bit off but that is the case anytime paint is being mixed in batches. I think I had a can made up at NAPA or something.
