Well Im back after MANY years of building a full out pro-touring 1969 Camaro. The Camaro will be completed in the next 6 weeks, and then will be sold shortly after. This car is far to nice and far too expensive for me to drive. Thats why I've decided that after building and owning some extreme cars I've finally decided that its time to build something that is totally cool, totally fun and something I can daily drive if I want to... My favorite vehicle of all time ... My FJ40. For all you purists out there I must apologize, this is NOT going to be restored, instead completely resto-modded

I was going to do this to my 66 (1st Pic) but after figuring out how I wanted to build my dream 40 it was a no brainer when I ran across the below 73 ... A PERFECT canvas to which I can start fresh

I'm a muscle car guy, and know these cars like the back of my hand and dont know much about building 4x4's but I have a friend that knows how to build killer trucks and has actually already built a killer FJ40

The build high lights are as follows

Goal - build a truck that I can daily drive and is comfortable and take off road and get a little crazy if I want too, and has to look completely BAD A$$ too
Here is what I've picked thus far ....
Already picked up and am currently rebuilding an LQ9 6.0 out of an Escalade
4L80 trans with Lokar floor mount
4 wheel disc brakes
Racepak IQ3s digital dash

My 1966 - will be sold after I finish my 73

NEW 73 that I picked up from TorFab in Seattle
Absolutely mint, with Aqualu tub, also I have a solid roof, and a set of perfect 81' doors

I look forward to posting a build thread and being part of the IH8MUD community again

Thanks
Steve from Toronto Canada

(1) The VSS you will need should be incorporated into the AA adapter you will need.
(2) You'll want some re-programming on the ECU: Emissions, remove VATS, Fan programming, program for your gear ratio & tire diameter, remove speed limiter, set idle & max. RPM, remove other consumer specific DTC's.
(3) You might want my 22 gal. nylon rear fuel cell and my In-Tank pump mounting kit for the 60-65 gph pump you will need.
