PartSouq question

Has anybody experienced a “clearance hold” on their PartSouq order? Mine has been in Memphis for four days with that message.

Probably trying to assess any tariffs or import fees that may be due.

The package has to clear customs and the Christmas season may be backing up the package flow. There may also be a duty fee invoice coming to your mail box in the future.

It was not from parts out. All of my orders from them have been 3 days or less customs hold.

Things sure have changed with international parts orders since a year or so ago. I used to get orders from Australia and the Middle East faster than US suppliers could deliver them.

The orders still arrive in the states in 3 days, but the customs process is delaying things significantly.

I just had a small Partsouq order come through in less than a week

This is the price you pay for not using your own customs agent; when you use the shipper's agent, you're at the mercy of what makes them the most money. Sometimes it's the value of the shipment and sometimes it's volume.

If it's the same thing I had once I had to pay extra duties or whatever it's called. I believe there is a monetary amount that if you stay under you're good but if you go over they want you to pay more tax or something. For my order it was like $30 that I paid to FedEx.

I contacted partsouq and they contacted FedEx for me to get that info cause FedEx never reached out.

That used to be the case (de minimis exemption), but it was repealed under the current administration - as of March 2, 2025.

I prefer DHL.

When I use DHL I get an email saying shipment on the way, there is a charge for xx, please pay before shipment delivery date or it will be held.

With FedEx, no email, but I got six, yes 6 phone calls in 2 hours after they picked up the delivery from Partsouq. It was a recording saying I owe xx and if I didn’t pay it asap my shipment would be held at distribution center in Memphis till it was paid thereby causing a substantial delay.

Parts from Japan for me have had more delay problems.Last shipping costs were extremely high and I passed on ordering from Japan.
