Part Identification

Morning. New to IH8Mud. Hope I'm posting this question in the appropriate location. 1989 FJ62 dealing with idle issues. Can someone tell me what this part is? There is a hard cable coming off the back end that is not connected to anything. Any help or wisdom will be much appreciated. Thanks

Yeah with a cable probably cruise. Where's that other wire looking part go that's coming out of it. Or is it where the cable you're holding plugs in?

Thanks for the suggestions. The cable comes out of the back of said part and isn’t connected to anything. Nothing in the vehicle shows cruise control switch or option. Assumed it somehow is supposed to connect to throttle cable .

most likely there would have been a stalk coming off the steering column clam shell, that had the functions.
also might have been some wires going to the speedometer cable by the transfer case
the small wire rope loop most likely hooked in by the throttle cable where it mounts above the valve cover

I would be more suspect about the other wiring in the pics, wire nuts aren't a good idea
