Trying to get the interior rof my FJ right. PO put on Herculiner or Durabake ( original version I guess as it is very rough). What do I need to do to paint over it, special primers, special paint ? Where it so rough to start, plan on going slow with a brush and or roller. Thanks in advance

I used a butt ton of spray in a can industrial rust-oleum to go right over the herculiner, I guess it could be painted on, but dry time may be lots longer??
just slean it well and spray away, my whole rig is herc and paint
