just to add something here. Hewett has always been good on the phone. they've sent me stuff just for asking. Their gen 1 bypass is flawless, and was for me for 4+ years.
While there is something up in this potted driver assembly they are obviously fixing peoples issues. Don't be nervous about using or installing their stuff.

I installed the GEN 2 on my 07, soldered the wires rather than using the scotch lock connectors. CEL light stayed on and got a pending fault code that I could not clear. Didn't affect drivability of the rig, just annoying, and very concerning since I have a smog check due next month. I was honestly thinking that I was going to have to actually replace the secondary pump ($$$$), but what else could I do. I have been driving the rig for almost six month with the CEL and praying that I wouldn't be due for a smog since the last one was done just last year. I contacted Hewitt and was told that a batch of modules were bad, so this weekend I was going to open the hood and send them the serial number. So I checked my email yesterday, and Hewitt had already sent me a new module. Slapped that baby in tonight, (took me longer to get the drop light plugged in) and no CEL. Smog will be my next hurdle but I am not anticipating any issues. Thanks a million (well, a least a couple thousand) Hewitt.

Trying to Revamp this thread.

P1440 - Vacuum Switching Valve Circuit Malfunction Bank 1
P1443 - Vacuum Switching Valve Circuit Malfunction Bank 2

I have just got a P1440 and P1443 on my LX and it seems to be running lean and stalling out when cold starting and whenever I put heavy load on the vehicle. right around 3k RPM I loose all power and it stalls/?misfires? something terrible. It sounds like I am purposely 2 stepping my car because my muffler is essentially topless right now.

Is this an EVAP issue or is this Secondary Air related? Maybe the two are directly linked. I do not quite understand how they work.
I have attached an image from partsouq. I thought the Vacuum switching valve could be one of these two valves.
If anyone knows is that correct?

Do these codes have anything to do with Charcoal Canister?

I am curious if I unplug these VSV before a cold start to see if the engine still dies out. My theory is that could help determine if the valves are bad.
Any input there is also helpful.

Have you installed Hewitt block off. Or done my S.A.I. filter MOD.

I have not done either. I own a Hewitt block off but I haven't installed it. I was waiting to have a real reason to install it.
I am fairly certain that these codes are EVAP system codes so I posted in the only thread with the same codes.

EVAP codes have nothing to do with S.A.I. system. Your codes may be related to charcoal canister (CC). But before R&R the CC. Check vacuum lines to VSV the VSV's with 12 Volts. Also all vacuum lines on and from engine, to and from CC. Also gas cap and cap area.

The FSM has step for checking both those VSV you circled. It is rare for those VSV themselves to fail, especial both at same time. Vacuum lines do fail and rodent like the VSV wires.

BTW: IMHO you should. toss the Hewitt kit in the trash. Read up, on my S.A.I. mod and how to inspect the filter to see if mod needed now. Don't wait for DTC (codes).
