9:00 works for me..... I can have the coffee ready, who's bringing the donuts?
9:00 is good.

BTW: Forgot to mention a volt/ohm meter and an FSM. I'll have mine, if we need them.

I'll have my Scanguage, volt/ohm meter, FSM, small tool set, and will try and find my Mity Vac pump to bring.

I still need to swing by Napa on my way home tonight so if anybody needs anything let me know and I will pick it up.

I have a mity vac somewhere as well. However, when I tested my components, I used vacuum from the intake. So we don't need a pump if we can't find one.

What are the caps for?

It's for an alternate EGR Valve Test version to the FSM I found on Mud.

You plug one of the two ports with a vacuum cap and apply vacuum to the other with a hand pump, it should hold that vacuum without leaking. This tests the diaphragm for leaks, if you do this with the engine running it will stall the engine testing that the valve actually opens and the exhaust gasses do flow. IF the valve opens and closes and the diaphragm does not leak the valve is good.

I guess since we will have a few able bodies one of us could plug the line with our finger while the other uses the hand pump.

Didn't get any caps today. :meh:
It's bed time, see you guys tomorrow and I will have a pot of coffee ready if you want.

Oh and you might want to head over a little early because it is my Neighborhoods annual community garage sale. If you are a bargain shopper there will be over 100 garage sales going on: MAP of Garage Sales

Well it went really good today! BIG Thanks to Reid for walking all three of us through it saving us hours of frustration.
So it seems that Dan will get out the cheapest my replacing just the plastic VSV and he was able to re-route his hoses that were bypassing the VSV.

I will need to replace both the VSV for the EGR and the Vacuum Modulator, my hoses were corroded to the ends and difficult to remove. Moisture must have gotten into the system at some point and the filter on the Vacuum Modulator was the worst anyone has ever seen. I will also have to bypass the little tube that goes through the throttle body as it is corroded shut.

Ulyses has it the worst because he will need to replace all three items; VSV, VSV for the EGR and the Vacuum Modulator.

So now we all know what parts are not working and we know how to remove them, it is on us to order up the parts and get back in their!

Well I just called up BB Toyota to see their prices, but plan to go with a discount from Dan. Anyway they want $143 for the EGR-VSV and $91 for the Vacuum Modulator. So it looks like I will probably come out of this with shipping and all just under 2 Bills.

Thanks again you guys that was a fun session of wrenching.

Reid - Huge shout out brother, it's amazing how smoothly things go when you have someone there with a solid knowledge base of what the hell we are doing.

Now it's time for step #6
