HEY GEORG! Count me in. Made my first post here today.;p ;p... and my second... and my third... and...

What's the story on the box? Is that aftermarket, custom, or factory? Never seen one like that before. I like it.
It's apparently called a Steel Loggers Box, I don't know much more about it other than that. I wouldn't mind finding a way to get a tailgate for it as it doesn't have one right now.

I did a little searching and found this site. If its one of theirs, maybe they can make a tailgate for you.

Yeah, I did buy it off ebay. A little nervous about buying something like this off the internet but it actually went quite smooth. Even drove the truck 1500 km home thru the mountains during winter and no problems at all.

new to site

I'm new to this site but not to Landcruisers my dad bought his first fj40 new in 1966 since then we have added over 30 various models to the family. I personally started with a 1965 fj40 than purchased 2 more 65 fj40's my next buy was a fj45 lwb pickup that is now powered by a 383 stroker and is slated to have a new paint job. since me and my wife have been married 3 years now we have added a 1974 fj40 w/ leaf over, 350, power steering, rancho shocks, tilt front end, 35" mudders, full roll cage, and leather full power lincoln cont seats with built in heaters. our next build cruiser is a 1966 fj45 wagon that we purchased about 1 year ago.

Glad to be a part of your web site and will soon post pics.
Thanks

Thanks Ben, I'll post pics later today. I do have power brakes and they are sensitive. No power steering though. I have a full floating rear end with disks all around.

1980 Hj45

Here's a pic. I'll start a new thread seperate from this one on the truck. The truck has just been shipped 2600 miles and it's filthy.

Ok, I'll play.

76 Fj45 that showed up as a rolling chassis, with freshly rebuilt drivetrain and a hideous loggers box.

first thing was to ditch the boat anchor ( I loathe spark plugs. ) and ditch the loggers box.

I managed to find an original box and a tailgate for it, so now its just a question of finishing off the frame repair, and putting the last of it together.

front half of the truck is mostly done, just the frame and battery box and fuel tank to deal with. and swapping out all the drums for the 4wheel discs on the poor old bj40 I sacrificed to it.

So, specs are/will be, 3b, turbo, intercooler, h55f, 4wheel discs with cruiser calipers on the ff rear, batteries and fuel tank under the box, spring over, bj70 suspension seats. power steering....other junk I'm sure, but you get the idea.

most of the stuff was just swapped over from the bj40 I've had for almost ten years, so wasn't much of a big deal.

I don't have any recent pics, there's some here http://s80.photobucket.com/albums/j171/seapotato1/bj45/ and its kinda dark and dingy in the garage anyways, once it's done and I can drive it, I'm sure I'll snap some newer pics.

Looking forward to being done the frame repair, then I can move onto fun stuff like the battery boxes, and purtying up the stock box to put back on.

cheers,
ryan

Nice Forum,
If I can ever figure out how to get a picture small enough to post on this site I will put one on here. Nice 45's you all have. Mine is a 1978 LWB I got out of Canada. It is registered in the great State of KY and is currently sitting in CA waiting to be finished--I had a 6AT Cummins engine placed in it and the fella never finished it. I have been out of the country since then and have no way to finish it so it is sitting at my father in Laws house waiting.
I just purchased an FJ 75 through the Miltitary and hope to someday have the two sitting together so I can drive either one i want.

S/F, Spark...
