that looks cool, I still want to remove mine to clean so if you have the wrench size and do's and dont's or even the page in the fsm I would like to know.
Can you switch the batteries? just curious if the 15.5 and 12.5 switch or stay. combined is 28v but I am pretty sure mine has about 13.7 on both when charging. Will measure as soon as it starts, want to finish the welding tomorrow =Wednesday, road test it Thursday.

I will do a write up on the injetor rebuild and post in here. I have the FSM I downloaded it form here somewhere. I think you can google it or even search on here. I will do teh battery swap to see what happens and I will report on that as well.

Hey, I found the fsm, use this link.

Ok this morning at 5:30 I woke up. At 9:30 I was done wit the injector rebuild. What a time consuming job. Truck seems maybe very slightly to have more power. Black smoke still there so I am inclined to say over fueling. Removing, rebuilds my and putting the injectors back in is a 2 banana job. My injectors were in good condition. I don't know if they were ever removed but they were ok. Nozzle pin slide test passed on all 6. 2 or 3 of them had residue of some sorts inside the injector body. Regardless, I've installed new nozzles and the beast runs awesome.

I have a question for the ones who know diesel. Diesel section is a little slow to respond and I know that some of the diesel peeps frequent this forum more often. After I have done the injectors truck ran perfect, but then it died on me down the road and I had to tow it home. The truck gradually sputtered very slightly barely felt it but I could feel the loss of power. I said to my self maybe a bit of air in the lines but then it died and won't stay running. Now it won't even start. The priming pump does not stiffen up as it should when its under normal operation. Can someone chime in? I will red the FSM to see what it could be. Thanks all for your help.

Sounds like a fuel leakdown issue to me. The only thing that changed was your injectors, right?

Have you got it running yet?

It looks like a fuel issue to me as well. I have not used new crush washers to seat the rebuilt injectors as I did not have any. The FSM says to use new so i have some coming from cruiser parts. The truck will not start anymore. The priming pump is soft but if I pump it a few times it hardens and then the truck wants to start. So I will pull the line entering the feed pump and put it in a fuel container, as per FSM to see if my lines are clogged coming from the tank. It's just messed up that it happened after I rebuilt the injectors. I will take them off though to put in new crush washers and the like. I'm afraid it might be sucking in air through there, although I am not sure. I am new to diesel engines too.

Make sure that when you put the feed line to diesel bucket on the feed pump that you get the air out of the line first.

If your priming pump does not firm up, then it's either unable to suck fuel in, or pressure above the feed pump is being lost. Based on your comment about the washers, I'm guessing one of your injectors is leaking.

You know what i think number 5 is leaking because i see a bit of moistness on the block that wasn't there. Can a leaking injector not allow the truck to start? Will one leaking injector cause the engine to stop? I mean the gassers can run with a bad or not firing cylinder easily. I am learning as I go along. Thanks much for all your help.

On Shasta, the FJ60 we just converted to a 2H, we had a leaking injector (#2) so bad that it had an active drip to the ground from the block. The motor would start, but it would be a hard start, and there was an audible miss while the motor was running.

That said, if you have one injector leaking externally, then it's possible that others are leaking internally (not holding line pressure) somehow. If enough of them are doing it, then you'd have starting / running problems.

Perfect, thanks for the advice. I assume that the new crush washers will solve this issue. What is funny is that it ran great after the rebuild, I then started loosing power gradually as I was driving, to the point where it just wouldn't go.

I'm going to keep a close eye on this thread to see if the crush washers fix it up.

When you put the injectors on, did you bleed from the bleeder valve on the filter housing only or did you also crack the injector lines while cranking?

I actually cranked maybe 3 times and she started. No bleeding. I dont't think I read anything about bleeding but I guess it makes sense.

Ok quick update, took everything apart again. re torqued everything with new washers and after bleeding the system, truck runs just fine. Looks like those gaskets fixed the issue. here it is

Looks really good dude.. So wish I had a diesel!
Thanks Greg.... U know, I just read an article on how easy it is to import one of these from up north. It was on the expedition portal site. It's as simple as driving across and paying some taxes. Then the vin gets checked and ire good to go. So if a diesel is what u want. It mightn't be too difficult to get one, provided one can be had for not too much money though

That sounds awesome!! Good work man :D

@ontherxs , this is what we need to do to your injectors.

Thanks, it wasn't that bad getting it fixed especially when having the proper tools for the job. I do have one injector that leaks so I must buy one. But other than that, boy am I a happy camper. Diesel all the way!!!

Can you send me the link for the rebuilt nozzles. Have the crush washers and fuel return washers on order.

I think I bought them on eBay from England I will dig the transaction and post the link. They are denso original parts
