Ok so we've sold our house and we're scheduled to move to Honduras in January. As we plan our budget we've discovered it may cost upwards of $10k to ship both our cars to HND, so we may just sell them and buy a Hilux in HND.

My question for y'all is, how much do you think I can get for my 4R if we go with the sell option?

If Mexico wasn't there I would consider it, but in reality it's not worth it.

In response to people saying drive it to HND on various forums...

I totally hear you and I hate to "waste" what I've done. However we (me and my wife) feel like time and money have been keeping us from getting to Honduras for approx 5 years now. This is why we have been cutting our losses so to speak for the last several months and doing whatever it takes to get to Honduras as fast as possible.

Right now I'm trying to get a realistic idea of what the 4R is really worth. I know the values are ALL over the board. I'm thinking upwards of 8k and 6k on the lower end. I'd be keeping the winch, light bar and some other small things that could go on the Hilux in HND.

We may still ship it. I'm waiting on some final prices from a shipping company. I'm just trying to get my ducks in a row.
 
Ok the 4R is for sale, $6k cash. I'll post an official listing soon. I am a little bummed, but excited as well about getting a diesel Hilux or a 70 series diesel LC assuming it sells.

Seems kinda a fools errand to put a lock on a glove box that can just be yanked out from the bottom.

Wouldn't some sort of a vehicle safe or vault be a more secure option? Could be hidden behind one of the interior panels in the back?
 
I have a tuffy console for real security. This is just a keep people honest kinda thing. ;)
 
Ok, so the 4R is for sale again... It's become apparent it's best to sell all cars and buy in HND. Looking at a few Hilux's in HND now. Asking $5,500 obo.

Online and the link is somewhere in this thread. Was about $300ish. It's a pretty thick rubber. Seems extremely stout.
 
Anyone wanna come to DFW, Keller and buy my steel bumpers for $1k for both plus your OEM bumpers?
