gonna use the filler plate bob provided to close up the end in the wheel well...should be a pretty clean install...next on to the floor supports and putting the floor back together....oh and some grinding to clean up those welds

Osage,

All I got to say is, You're doing good! This will certainly be a " go to " thread, for anybody wanting to do some rust repair. Keep it up.

thank you sir.....not bad for a carpenter!....it looks scarier than it is....i am anxious to move on to the rest of the work on that side....the floor supports and replacing the floor....the other side should be a little easier...still a challenge

Pablo,

I used Chassis Saver on my frame. No primer or top coat, goes right over rust, if you have some. On the under side of my body, I used Zero Rust. Both went on good, the Chassis Saver leaves a very hard finish, look at my pictures again, to see the finish.

Marc,

I just went back and reread your whole build. You've come a long way this year. I think, you're getting a good handle on the rust issue and a good education on welding, along the way. Good Job!

Kids out of the house, I remember that feeling. Now I got Grandkids running around my shop. :) Don't mind at all.

thanks ron....i have adopted the theory that i can handle bad looking welds as long as the are good full penetration welds...grinder works wonders!....miss my kiddos...but would not want them in this small town with nothing to offer the young...no grandkids...and hopefully non in the near future!
