alrighty...here i go again...most of you know i bought this pig from fjben...several years ago...started and stopped the project more times than i care to count...mostly to complete my son jakes fj40....than just kinda lost interest....now is the time to finish her up...i will have it on the road this summer!

hood is done ready for paint as are the 2 front fenders...thanks to bobm i now have all the body parts i need to get to completion...while waiting for the panels i removed the front clip....started cleaning 30 plus years of crap out of every nook and cranny...wire brushing and painting

ran across a few things that require attention....like the fan that is missing a couple of blades...might ought to round up a new one.... also the hose to nowhere...where exactly is this hose supposed to go?

I believe the "hose to nowhere" is supposed to go to an oil cooler
 
hmmm an oil cooler...i will research that one...thanks bogus..hey bob as promised the pig project is moving forward...i do have a question for you...i currently have the driverside floor pan out...new body mount in place...would i be better off installing the floor pan than replacing the rocker or replace the rocker with the floor pan out?...just looking for some input...thanks

diffrerent water pumps would have the oulet for an oil cooler

you might have the "wrong" pump on there
 
Marc, install the Rocker with floorpan out and you will have to remove the front body mount.. When you get started give me a ring if you need to.

The cracked plate under the carb could be due to excessive heat. If that's the case, pull the manifolds and check them for cracking and/or warping.

While you have the manifolds apart put a new blank off plate between them. Available from SOR, maybe others.

edit: the reason that black plate is there is basically a heat shield between the manifolds and carb
 
well more progress has been made..slow but sure...working to get the front clip ready to reinstall....got the inside done...now need to do the outside and put it back on....than fender install...and hood and on to the bobm part install...clean...wire brushing and painting as i go...here are some new pics

Nice! That's right where I am with mine, just finished welding up all the oddball holes. Need to sand blast and paint. Thanks for some inspiration.
