Tip: the factory manual has what is called a wiring schematic that shows what every wire on your vehicle goes to.
Not sure if they were optional or not. I know I have seen early 60 series trucks without them, and without the factory holes for the nozzles in the front valence. If your truck has holes in the valence under the headlights, there is a good chance that it originally came with washers. My '84 FJ60 has the washers and the bottle. The headlight washer bottles almost always get cracked and smashed, so folks historically just removed them when that happened.
