Original finish on front fender vents Grill?

Guys looks like there were a few different vents on the front and rear quarters of FJ55’s.

On my ‘72 it looks like there was two finishes? Maybe a chrome rim/ribs and back painted back ground?

The grill is tough to figure out too. Seems like chrome/silver maybe some black in the back ground and the Toyota letters seem like it could have been a possible third finish?

Curious as to what was factory. I need to dig up Nolan’s barn find but I think it was a later model iirc. @wngrog

It's basically black and pewter.

I link the early real vents and strive to use them on all FJ55s

Drew, I was thinking the same as above, pewter and black
early ones were functional with duct and flapper
later ones were not

My 78 d/s is open. That's for the carb fan. Pewter and black

Toyota Ash Grey Metallic with black background on both. We used trim black.
