Hey- when I drive my FJ55 I get a whole lot of exhaust in the cab. I can't find any leaks, and was wondering where the original exit point was. Mine exits straight back, just below the driver's side taillight. Should that pipe be bent so that it exits more out the side?

Oh, um, that is actually a standard feature of these old Cruisers. The exhaust is injected into the cab so you can monitor the engine performance with your nose (Jeez guys, aren't these rookies annoying).

Ok, seriously, my money is on the exhaust leak coming from the exhaust manifold. Possible that it is at the very back, between the head and mani. so that the fumes are flowing directly against the firewall and into the cab. Ask me how I know?

For sure...use the big vent thingy on the door...the one that operates with the roller...it'l cut back on drunk driving charges...might even save a life. It only took me a few years to address the problem
