Got some sleeves set up to hold it where I wanted it, made an alignment bar, and set up pinion and caster angles I wanted and glued it back together. Was more stressful thinking about it than just pulling out the saw and going to town

Somewhere between stripping this axle down and welding it back together again, I gained another project. Some of you had asked about if I was selling the 80 axles and knew I was keeping them for a potential second build. Besides the Sequoia I mean. I snagged a 1st gen Tacoma that had been rolled down in Rio Del that needed some serious love. Roof crushed enough to break the windshield and passenger door glass, hood is destroyed, brake reservoir smashed, and grill just deleted. But with less than 140k on the 3.4 and it being an auto ex-cab, the price was right for me

In preparation for going to real axles, I paid a visit to @Firemedic831 and snagged his old 63” springs and shocks from his Taco build, an ended up with a rear bumper to boot! Also snagged a gear driven tcase locally and an ifs steering box. The tcase will need to be converted to top shift, but that’s ok

Along the way on the last couple weeks, I had the heater core in the 80 give up the ghost, so dash apart and got that hammered out. Also got weld on high steer from TMR onto the Dana and slammed gears and locker in. Getting close to start building the Sterling rear I hope

Curious what you used for an alignment bar and pucks?
I have a guy I work with that has stuff for doing 1 tons, so I borrowed his pucks and used some 2" dom through it all, but funny enough with it sleeved the way I did it I wouldn't worry too much about it if I did it again if I went slow

Got my hubs from Branik that are machined for 35 spline outers and have the bronze bushing already installed. Also mocking up the low profile truss from Barnes. I’ll have to cut it and section it back together since it was made for a driver drop, but it’s just metal

I got some more much needed work done on the Dana 60. Truss is a low profile from Barnes but for a driver’s drop, so I had to cut it up a bit to work with what my passenger conversion. Now I’m just waiting on my 35 spline shafts to ship from
Branik and I need some tie rods an to burn my brackets on for the link. Also have a TMR diff cover on the way. I need to build the Sterling next

Branik 35 spline  Bouji upper crust

That's impressive. I can blow up 1350 cv driveshaft in my truck on 42 stickies if I clutch drop at like 3500rpm, but regular 35spline Yukon chromos are Gucci (stock 14b rear shafts). Must be a lot of power in this truck to need that beef.

 oh that hurts but I laughed I don't think the 1fz and power should be used in the same sentence

This old 1FZ doesn't really put out a lot of power, but being really bound up at this weight has been hard on things. She's no tube buggy, so having the strength to crawl out of things will be nice without having to worry about listening for another hub to pop or rear diff grenade
