I think I might camp Friday night as well, going to arrive late though. Does anyone know how long of a drive it is from Tempe to the campsite?

When I get home I will post the two campsites. They are less than 1.5 miles from the gun range on the only road, so easy to find in the dark.

is this a run that a very inexperienced driver can do? I have a 94 cruiser with a three inch lift and 35” tires.
It is not a beginner run, but if you simply use good judgement and take your time, you'll be fine. 35s will be a plus.

I'll be headed to Camp Chollaier Friday afternoon

I worked most the weekend on getting my rig back up to snuff, and was successful in getting the transfer case reinstalled, and most the shifter concept shaken out. With luck, I'll finish it working nights this week. Worst case scenario, I don't get it dialed and have to meet the crew in Klondike for the camp. I am working to not be "that guy that took his rig apart and couldn't fix it in time for the run he put together".

Lesson learned is that items are never easy to check off when you have modified a large percentage of your Cruiser.

Ben can drive his 100 and you could co-pilot.

Looking forward to seeing you on the run. You bringing the Taco or the 40
:bounce2:Its Taco Tyme!:bounce:

The 40 needs a water pump and a fan blade assembly :frown:

For those of y'all driving highway 177 be aware of two construction projects - one by the Ray Mine and one at the 177 / 77 junction in Winkelman.

1. State Route 177 bridge project between Superior, Kearny to begin Jan. 6
Motorists along State Route 177 at Mineral Creek between Superior and Kearny should expect delays starting as soon as Monday, Jan. 6, when a bridge rehabilitation project begins.
Work includes a new concrete overlay, guardrail repairs and scour protection beneath the bridge.
The project is scheduled to last just over three months, ending in April.
Traffic will be restricted to a single lane in alternating directions, at times, using flaggers.
Vehicles should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
For more information, please visit the project website.

2. The bridge on highway 77 at Winkelman is being rebuilt and is currently one lane.
There is a three-way temporary traffic light at the 177 / 77 junction. Each direction gets a green light while the other two have a red. The sequence is 77 Northbound - 77 Southbound - 177 turning North or South. The cycle is around five minutes, so if the light turns red as you approach the turn it will take about five minutes to turn green. City folk seem to think the light is broken and will turn on red - even though there are signs saying no turn on red. I have been in a line that forced stupid motorists to back up out of the way because they turned on red and got in the way

On a high note gas at the Circle-K in Mammoth is $2.45 :)
