@OPMACHINE sent me out production number 1 of his bumper. I got it installed today in about 3 hours solo. Here’s how I got it done

I was pretty shocked that the old
School bumper that was on the Goat weighed as much as this unit. When I unbolted it it was a massive brick hitting the ground.

This little cart was clutch to do this job solo.

The kit comes with two pieces that bolt to the frame and a shim that keeps it off the rivets on the crossmember.

I got the shim in place over the side pieces and marked it with a sharpie

You need GOOD sharp drill bits up to 1/2” for this job. I drilled pilots. Slow and lubed. I keep some Crisco just for this

Side drilling easy.

Up drilling not so much but the floor jack trick made it happen

I got the drivers side done then jumped right over to the passenger side. This one went a bit faster because I knew what was what.

Once I got both sides installed and hand tight I was still just a hair off getting the threads on these monster bolts to line up so I put a ratchet strap on the frame and got the last bit snugged up

High and tight and unbelievably stout.

Ugh. need to get my 45 done so i can buy one to put on it!! So nice

Looks great! Curious if the tailgate hits the rubber bumpers on back of the bed or the bumper itself first?

Not sure. Chains are in place and it hits neither

Well, that’s what I figured with the chains in place BUT… let’s say you unhook the chains…..😉.
Afterall, the bumpers are there for a reason.

Mine are full length so they don’t hit the tailgate at the proper angle but they are meant to be trimmed down for a 67.

They would keep off the bumper even trimmed I believe
