We recently acquired a 1976 FJ55. It's in amazing condition, however we are looking to update somethings. I want to put a 2.5 lift from OME on it (currently have one on my 40 and love it). It should make accommodating the 33x10.5 tires easier and create some redundancy since thats the tire I run too.

I know Cruiser Corp is putting together a lift kit package for 55s that is an out of the box, throw it on and done deal. Much like the 40 kit I installed. However they don't have an ETA. I checked in with Cruiser Outfitters and they do have a kit, but you have to move the rear mounts on the rear springs back to make it work.

My question is, is that really a big deal? Does anyone have experience with that kit and what were the results? I would like to keep the spring mounts where they are, but since I don't really have an ETA on the Cruiser Corp set up, I thought I would reach out to ya'll for some feedback/insight.

Thank you in advance!!

Superb swine. Welcome to the club!

There is another forum if you scroll all the way down that has most of the 55 Tech.

There is a guy that just purchased some Alcan. I ran them on my first Pig and they were great.

Thank you! And thank you for the heads up! I will definitely dig into there as well. I was actually looking at Alcan as an option initially, but they don't seem to get the same reviews recently like they used to a while back? Do you still run them?
