Recently bought hj60 and the rear springs were so saggy I know I had to do something to them to get the car tested/mot/whatsoever. Found a used ome kit locally in ok condition and bought it.

Now when I havent yet installed the springs to the car I thought it might be a good time to do a small overhaul. New center bolts, friction pads, lick of paint... I'm just wondering that while I'm on it I could do a light rearch if needed. Problem is I never have seen the springs in use, so I would need some measurements of new springs unloaded/of the car. If somebody knows the OME spring lenght eye-to-eye and hight from the bottom to eyeline I would be very thankful!

I realized another problem going through parts and cleaning them. OME greasable pins in shackles are very worn and I don't feel comfortable putting them back to car. I have also red horror stories of shearing pins. Would it be ok to drill ome shackles for 18mm bolts and run original rubber bushing with them?

I've tried searching through topics but I'm new to these machines and struckle even making up the right search terms...

Okay, found this table made by Sixty's guy in another thread, so I'm probably okey with the spring measurement. I'll just check if my springs are much longer eye-to-eye than those right?

Well this is interesting. I don't know if I don't know how to measure the springs or if I can't read the table right. My front springs are both 1100mm but the rear springs are approximately 1160 and 1180, wich seems to be quite a lot shorter than the picture above states. Shouldn't a leaf spring get longer when used/sagged?

It has also began to feel impossible to find leaf liners here... Ebay has tons of them, but ordering from there would set my project back for a month or so.

why not run OME parts back with what you have, and touch base with cruiser outfitters for what you need.

Sorry ...just noticed you are not stateside...USA... Carry on :)

Good link, thanks about it! Made me realize that I've measured the springs wrong way. Too bad I've already taken leaves apart, but maybe I can get some information by measuring the main leafs.

I've decided to make my front springs a bit more sturdy by adding one leaf from junk springs I have. Springs were having hard time in the car they were taken off because it had PTO winch installed. This car will also have a PTO winch, some steel bumpering and not to mention the 2h hanging on there...

Well I get back to this when I have the refurb finally under construction. Right now I've been busy fighting rust, but I'll get there!
