Mine are falling apart after 12 years. Is that about their normal lifespan ?

Yup.

Edit: We don't know many miles you have put on them or the amount of abuse. But I would say 12yrs is a pretty good run considering others failing much sooner.

I live in Miami so mostly street use. some offroading when on vacation

Yellows just plain are terrible, I didn't know any better about them when I got my big stinkbug medium kit. I wish I would of stayed with the stockers. Now I need pay a shop to replace them or just spend the extra to get a HR 20 ton press & purchase plates.

There are some that use them and can get a lot of years out of them but anything other than OEM will get you anything other than OEM life. In other words, no where near as long.
