So with the help of other opinions from this site I think I've decided to go with OME suspension lift on my 4Runner. While doing some research trying to find who actually sells OME I came across Emu Dakar. I'm curious, is this the same company making OME springs in the states, or is this a competitor using part of the Emu name? Also, can anyone recommend a good place to buy the OME or Emu Dakar springs from?

Thanks in advance everyone! BTW, I wasn't sure where else to post this so forgive me if this is the wrong section. It's going on an 85 4Runner so I thought I'd start here.

Side note, maybe there should be a discussion section for suspension, winches, sliders, etc... Or maybe there is and I just completely missed it. If that's the case I apologize.

Thanks everyone!

i might be totally wrong but wasnt the dakar springs made in Indonesia designed in australia,
the the older ones (old man emus) made in australia
because of steel prices?

I remember hearing something about that too, but I also remember hearing that quality was kept tight so it made no difference anyway :meh: I might be wrong though . . . it's been a loong day (all day trial, 6 hour drive and oh yeah, just started with flu symptoms this morning and I'm still not home till I finish work tomorrow and drive the last 4 hours back)

If I were buying again, I'd go to Cruiser Solutions (Cruiser Solutions, custom cruisers, restorations, genuine Toyota parts, body tubs, used Land Cruisers for sale), great vendor, they support MUD, plus they're right down the road from me. Tedd is really knowledgable, he will know the answer to your question, give him a call.

Um, maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how this website can help me. I don't see anything for my 85 4Runner. Looks like its all FJ parts. I'm sure they'll appreciate the plug though...

Any OME dealer can get you any OME system.

Curt from Cruiser Outfitters.com is a good place to go since he is an OME dealer, very good pricing, supports this site, suports TLCA events, super helpful, all around nice guy, etc.

For your 4 runner, have you checked Marlin Crawler? Many of the guys in our club who wheel mini's use his stuff and are very happy. I do not know who makes his springs.

Tedd sells a lot of ARB and OME, including stuff for mini-trucks. If they make it, he can (and will) get it.
