Recently my dash lit up like a Las Vegas sign. No specific code. Later that afternoon the codes disappeared. Two days later the codes came back and I caught it with a P0305. Well that's fixable.
I had a new set of Denso Iridium spark plugs and Denso Coils already in stock. So I change coils, plugs, and replaces a few miscellaneous vacuum lines that were beginning to look frayed at the ends. While removing the old plugs they felt like they were finger tight. I could see a little bit of exhaust smudge on the lower threads. I consider myself lucky since there were no time certs or Heli coils or latent problems waiting to be uncovered. I did find an aftermarket coil on Cyl #5. Voila the problem.
The job went easily and and Maroon is running like a new baby. So well that It passed the coin balance test.
Here's to an old 2UZ and the coin balance test.
