Congrats! She is one clean looking rig Chukardog! Be sure to give her a lot of rustproofing now and I think she will give you lots of good years back!

Wow--Good save.

Adam,

I will have pics of the cross memebr fix. I'm having Bullington Speed and custom (Bull here on mud) make me a rear bumper and at the same time replace the rear cossmember. I'll be sure to post lots of pics of it.

Great Work! Wow you really saved it. No go Drive and ENJOY.

I thought it is really commendable for guys that do frame swaps, this ranks above that!!!
Nice, nice job Chukr!!!

Did you end up swapping the rear cross-member from your donor vehicle?

Since Ive posted so many pics and this thread basically started when i got the rig, I figure I would turn it into my build thread. With the body work done, I have turned my attention to the interior. it is, In a word, disgusting. This one owner cruiser was owned by a chain smoker for 20 years. I have never seen a car more permeated by cigarette smoke, ever.

My interior project will be:

Stereo
Pioneer CD headunit with IPOD controller
sony 4 CH amp
MB quart 5 1/4 separates in the front
Pioneer 3 way 6X9 in rear
10" Amplified Bazooka tube
Dynamat interior
replace door panel vapor barrier with cool sound deadening vapor barrier stuff

Interior
New SOR carpet kit
New IPOR Front seats
re-cover rear seat to match fronts
clean and detail interior, was smoker vehicle and I have NEVER, EVER seen this kind of tar build up before on anything. the headliner is nearly black in spots.
Taskled LED's

Security
Code alarm security system
add 4 door lock actuators for keyless entry/illuminated entry
Starter kill
remote paging

Pulled the interior apart and found some oh so special surprises. More frocking rust!! took it over to My pal Bull's place and had him cut and patch the bad spots. after that I painted the interior metal with Rust Bullet.

next I applied sound dampening material to the fender wells, inside quarter panels and floor pan, paying special attention to the tranny hump. I used a product called B-quiet. Good stuff, super sticky and easy to work with, no heat gun required. Initial observation on the little wood roller that comes with the sound damping material is worthless, even moderat pressure causes the roller wheel to pop off. the most useful part is the handle, ti actually was evry usefull for working the air bubbles out.

I'm adding door lock actuators to all 4 doors, I installed the first one yesterday and will post the pics tonight. Not the easiest on this rig as access to the lock plunger rod is limited and clearance with the window is real tight. I also found a super cool product for replacing my vapor barrier and sound damping at the same time. The product is VB-2 by a company called cascade audio. It took me a while to figure out how to apply it properly, but I must say it looks sweet when its done. Stay tuned for pics of the door lock install and the VB2 tonight.

Chukar,

Which B-quiet did you use? There's about six different varieties, according to their website.

And how much of it did you buy/use?

Looks damn good, btw.

Thanks
