Oil in the water...what the...!!

i just had the same thing happen only it started with over heating (changed the therm) still same issue kept going from normal to hot real fast then back to normal like it wasn't opening up. i get to work get off fill up with coolant leave and then boom no power slugging through a busy intersection (scary) get out check and i have coolant in my oil oil in coolant. i got a timing set kit from mizumauto.com comes with new pumps and all . but the head gasket is my problem i have a new one for a 22r that my buddy gave me will it work for my 22re ?
