I actually got mine from SOR. It was $60 w/ the pigtail...both sides.

It installs in about an hour or so. You just need the relay, switch, fuse and however you want to install it. Went together really easily.

Thanks Joey,

Do you happen to have to part # from SOR, perhaps on the invoice stashed next to some gold bars and stock certificates?:grinpimp: I haven't been able to find it on their site?

Thats because there are no part numbers. You can use the Toyota Part #s from the JDM mod write up he did. They do not have many 80s parts accounted for yet but they are feverishly working on it. I just walked in and told them what I wanted, they weren't sure if there had it. Then should me a box full of em and I went and ligned up the fan to make sure it fits and it did, no problems. Just call and ask.

...FWIW, once the head was removed we noted two cylinders showing a lean running condition. Also previously I had to do a little dash work which required the shifter be out of the park position so I just left the key on while I did the job. I know, not the best idea but it was short term. Anyway when we started the truck up afterwards it stumbled and knocked a bit and then ran smooth. Evidently with the fuel pump on the dripping injectors loaded those two cylinders enough to cause a problem. This was all before receiving the injectors back....

??? I thought the fuel pump needs engine rpm to run continuously with the ignition set to the 'on' position?

possibly, I believe I can remember hearing the pump hum before when turning the the key on but not to the start position before. Never thought you needed rpms to build fuel pressure.

That's not how the fuel pump relay circuit works, you need engine rpm *first*, ck the FSM. Residual pressure is after the engine is turned off. The stumble you reference really had nothing to do with leaving the key on without the engine running, read: the two cylinders weren't any more loaded, because the pump wasn't ever on?

1 drip per minute is within factory 80 spec, it sure sounds like it's possible you could have had leaking injectors, but that bad they wouldn't have passed the factory test either. Did you check them before sending them out? Interesting POR, the factory Audi 'in spec' for Bosch injectors on a 96 OBDII turbo motor running 18psi is 2 drips per minute - twice the rate at half the displacement .

I submit that I could have made a hasty conclusion. Are you satisfied? Either way just drop this BS all ready.

You have sinned Rick and you shall be stoned to death with ping pong balls.

I enjoy a good correlational story to support a belief, diagnostic or repair. Having that story be technically correct to the operation of the machine, makes the story more believable to *me*, but I'm sure that's just one of my personality flaws. I'll work on that.

don't start at the bottom of that list on my behalf. :D
You were at the very top of that list yesterday by sharing a diagnostic story that's not possible! :D As you spoke to the story in the context of a specific 'before fix' event, it made me mildly curious as to how the 'problem' could be solved at all.:hhmm:

I promise to not think so hard next time. Back to the OP, 'would you SC all over again', Rick? I would with the Sumotoy PCV Modification as the only change.

Mine just showed up last night so I don't really have an opinion on if its a good idea or not. Very nice looking kit though... A lot more components to it than I expected (fan, misc hoses and lines). I can't wait to get blown in my truck, I mean get my truck blown.

All forced induction threads make me happy I don't have one :flipoff2:

Hey Rick, I am thinking of getting rid of my 1FZ and putting in a Audi V6 bi turbo, can you help?

You could probably take the radiator out of the truck bed :D
