@JToobe It's a green complete top and, to my knowledge, it should fit a 1973. I don't think they changed (the side panels at least) until 1975, but I'm sure someone else can chime in.

Is there a R2C filter that will fit the Weber carb?

Not needed. Wix (Napa gold) really is the standard. Before there was r2c that's all the racers would run. The only downside is not being able to wash and reuse.

Looking for a 4x4 for my brother for the winters in Buffalo, NY. He's hoping to buy a southern truck to start and stay rust free with a budget of around $4000 +/- $500. So far he's been set on Jeep XJ's but he's open to anything. If anyone knows of something for sale that may fit the bill please let me know.

It will only stay rust free if it gets garaged all winter. Pretty sure Buffalo uses salt or brine. A used Wrangler or Cherokee would be easy enough to find. For that matter, an AWD Honda Element might be near that price with enough miles on it.

Agree with John. My daughter lives in Buffalo and rust is abundant. My wife grew up in Northern NY state as well and a lot of people kept a winter beater car and left the good car in the garage.

Oddly enough I think the XJ Cherokee market is getting hotter just like the TLC market has been. Like me, he likes the idea of a rugged truck. He's had a couple sell from underneath him because people are so eager to buy them. Clean ones seem to go for $5000-$8000 and ones around his price point go within a week. I was just hoping to find one before it hit the market.

This is going to be his winter beater I believe. His daily for now is a B8.5 Audi S4 so he's hoping to protect that from the rust.

Look on nc4x4.com. There always seems to be some reasonably priced jeeps on there.

As a long term Vermonter, I say tell him to buy a used Subaru (any) or a Rav4. In the Snow/ice/slush, the AWD systems are superior to the 4WD that you'll find in a Wrangler, Cherokee, etc. You could recommend an 80/100 (keeping the center diff open), but its a shame to see a nice southern Cruiser sentenced to a cancerous death.

Looking for a used 2F engine in good shape in the Charlotte area. I know it's a long shot but I'm hoping that someone has one just sitting in their garage :-)

I'm also willing to pay for a rebuilt 2f for the right price. Let me know if you have anyhing. Thanks!

Here is one in Wilmington. Might be able to talk him down if you need it shipped, or you might be able to pay someone on here to trailer it back for you.
Land cruiser fj60 2f fj40 motor/engine

Also have a free F.5 engine if you have any interest in that...

I have to agree with you on the car and the rust. I owned a Subaru for my first car and it would drive circles around my friends WJ Grand Cherokee in the snow on all seasons. I'll have to try and convince him to get a pre-rusted truck or something else in his budget. Thanks for the input everyone!

I have a wood chipper but it is only up to 2 inch....but you are kinda far away

Does anyone in the club have a wood chipper I can borrow?
Had to get rid of mine. Didn't want it being found and used as evidence in the trial.

Not gorgeous but the price is right for anyone wanting integrated belts:
