It seems like there is a lot less engineering involved if you are building from scratch to go solid front axle. that doesn't mean its better at speed.

I'd think so too, simple design, get an axle that's strong, work out all the links and done.

Independent, weaker (granted I'm sure with proper engineering you could beef up gears and shafts) work out max angles for CVs but still get the travel or lift you want...

Did you watch the while thing? What did Redline do?
